We extend a warm welcome to all our members for the coming year 2021, and while this may not be the perfect start to our golfing year, we have to stay positive and trust these extreme measures that are causing so much hardship to our community will prove to be effective, and with the imminent distribution of vaccines, we can look forward with some hope to an end to this Coronavirus pandemic crisis that we are experiencing at this time. We earnestly appeal to everyone associated with the Golf Club to adhere to the restrictions in place, and by doing so we will all get through this catastrophic period of our lives together.
We are very honoured to be your Club Captains, and hopefully when these restrictions are lifted in the near future, we can look forward to meeting all our members, old and new, and once again enjoying our wonderful Golf Course that we have so badly missed in recent times.
To our incoming Officers, Committees and Trustees, we look forward to our continued success that is based on teamwork and solidarity, especially in the year that’s in it, as Golf Ireland is going to take us into a new era in golfing terms, and by working together we can help create a better environment where everyone, regardless of age, gender, ability or disability will be most welcome and made feel proud to be part of Portarlington Golf Club.
Even though at this time the Club is not accessible for members, it is important that the Course will be in good shape when we get the green light, and for this we are indebted to our dedicated staff for maintaining the excellent quality that we have become accustomed with.
Due to restrictions, we may have a limited number of team competitions this year, however our teams coordinator and managers did a great job last year and as some were rewarded with success for their efforts, we can look forward with optimism to the coming year.
Finally to our loyal sponsors we once again thank you for your continued support and would appeal to all members to support your local businesses wherever you are.
